Overview

This document explains the freertos_queue example. This example introduce simple logging mechanism based on message passing.

Example could be devided in two parts. First part is logger. It contain three tasks: log_add().....Add new message into the log. Call xQueueSend function to pass new message into message queue. log_init()....Initialize logger (create logging task and message queue log_queue). log_task()....Task responsible for printing of log output.

Second part is application of this simple logging mechanism. Each of two tasks write_task_1 and write_task_2 print 5 messages into log.

Hardware requirements

  • Mini/micro USB cable
  • EVKB-IMXRT1050 board
  • Personal Computer

Board settings

No special settings are required.

Prepare the Demo

  1. Connect a USB cable between the host PC and the OpenSDA USB port on the target board.
  2. Open a serial terminal with the following settings:
    • 115200 baud rate
    • 8 data bits
    • No parity
    • One stop bit
    • No flow control
  3. Download the program to the target board.
  4. Either press the reset button on your board or launch the debugger in your IDE to begin running the demo. Running the demo ================ After the board is flashed the Tera Term will show debug console output.
